Founded in 2002, the OFL has grown to 10 teams, each of whom controls 20 players. It began in a hotel room in Shreveport, LA after a web service proved inadequate to meet its owners' competitive needs due to its restrictive rules, pitiful bandwidth limitations, and "peak time" premium.

After a test run to conclude the 2002 season, the league was developed further and moved to a geocities page, where it languished for 3 long years. As seen above, official records began in 2004, and in 2006, the OFL was moved to a personal server where it continues to thrive.

The OFL began with the Beloit Bling, the Beloit Fighting Carps, the Drunken Masters, the Springfield Isotopes, and the Janesville Juggernauts making up the Ambush Valley Conference, while Big Vitto's Bruisers, the Futher Muckers, Jack's Jammin' Gigolos, South Side Chicago Muerto Pescado, and the Beloit Pigs made up the First Quarry Conference.

After 2002, the Beloit Pigs were sold to a new owner, and moved to Wheaton, IL where they became known as the Wheat-town 0wnz0r. The Drunken Masters also changed hands in 2003, but their name remained. Finally, after the 2005 season, the Futher Muckers owner decided to sell his team and focus on his life's passion, and the franchise relocated to Lake Villa and became known as the Lake Villa Packers.

The Shreveville Ft. Blanc Mourning Szgany, formerly the Springfield Isotopes, continued their dominance of the league. After changing hands and struggling early in the year, the Franchise won 13 consecutive games (an OFL record) to successfully defend their 2K7 Title and become the first repeat champions in the history of this storied league by scoring 147 points (another OFL record) in the Championship Game.

The Shreveville Ft. Blanc Mourning Szgany look to build on their success of the past three seasons. After winning a mere 9 games and squeaking through a championship game against the Bruisers, their continued dominance of the OFL is in jeopardy. The Bruisers look to maintain the momentum gained during last year's stretch run, while the 0wnz0r and the Shockers try to forget their late season collapse.
